Quality Supplier Award from TKML

Tata Ficosa has been awarded the Best
Quality Supplier Award from TKML for supplies of outer rear
view mirrors for Innova on 27 December 2005.
Tata Ficosa was the only supplier to receive this award. This award
was given by Mr. K.K.Swamy, Deputy M.D., TKML.
Tata Ficosa has maintained Zero PPM for three consecutive months after
being in the red category for almost four months.
Tata Ficosa thanks TACO - I & P Divsion for the support to achieve
this award.

Johnson Controls wins National Energy Conservation Award for 2005

Tata Johnson Controls has won the Certificate
of Merit Award for the automobile sector at the National Energy Conservation
Awards 2005. Declared by the Ministry of Power, Government of India,
the award was presented to TJC by Dr Abdul Kalam, President of India,
at a glittering function held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on 14 December,
2005.
TJC has undertaken a number of initiatives in the field of energy
conservation and the use of non-conventional energy sources at its
plant in Hinjewadi, Pune.
These initiatives have helped TJC reduce the
consumption of electricity at the plant by over 13 per cent over
the previous year. The award represents the Government of India's
recognition of this achievement.

TACO
Interiors and Plastics wins TBEM Serious Adoption and Highest Delta
Awards

TACO Interiors and Plastics, previously known
as Tata AutoPlastic Systems, has received the TBEM Serious Adoption
Award for crossing the score of 450 points as per the second cycle
of the external assessment conducted in 2004. It has also received
the Highest Delta Award for achieving the largest rise in the score
over the previous assessment. Both these awards were handed over
by Tata Group Chairman Ratan Tata at a function held in Goa, India
on 25 November 2005.

Automotive Ltd wins Ford Motor Company World Excellence Gold Award
for 2004

Tata
Johnson Controls Automotive Ltd, a joint venture between Tata AutoComp
Systems Limited (TACO) and Johnson Controls Inc, USA that produces
vehicle seating systems, has won the World Excellence Gold Award
for 2004 from the Ford Motor Company (FMC). FMC awarded 16 global
suppliers with the Gold award and TJC was the only Indian company
to receive this honor.
Tony Brown, Senior Vice-President, Global Purchasing,
FMC presented the award to Mr. R. Vasudevan, CEO, Tata Johnson Controls
at a function held at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan
on 28th April, 2005. Presenting the award, Tony said: "Our
world excellence award-winning global suppliers play a pivotal role
in helping us deliver attractive, quality products to our customers".
Tony congratulated Tata Johnson Controls and its employees for playing
an essential role in helping the automaker to deliver quality products
to its customers.
Ford Motor Company's world excellence awards
recognise Ford suppliers, who, by their steadfast dedication, determination
and sustained focus on achieving the very highest standards, allow
Ford to deliver excellent value and quality to its customers.

Tata
Auto Plastic Systems honoured by General Motors as supplier of the
year 2004

Tata Auto Plastic Systems (TAPS) was awarded
for the second year in succession the General Motors Supplier of
the year 2004 in providing General Motors with parts and services
for its overall business performance. The prestigious award was
presented in a ceremony conducted on 23 April 2005 in Detroit, USA.
The GM Supplier of the year award began as
a global programme in 1992. A global team of executives from purchasing,
engineering, manufacturing and logistics selects award winners.
Their decisions are based on supplier performance in quality, service,
technology, cost etc.
TAPS relationship with GM (India) started with
the supply of parts for Corsa and continues in a big way in supplies
to the subsequent model Tavera. The relationship with GM global
locations is underway with developments for Europe, Australia and
North America.
GM and TACO / TAPS consider this relationship
to be mutually beneficial and therefore it continues to grow stronger.

AutoPlastic Sytems awarded TKML award for 2004

Toyota Kirloskar Motors Limited (TKML) has
awarded TAPS with certificates for having met or exceeded their
expectations of quality, cost and delivery targets for the year
2004.
The awards were presented in April 2005
at the annual supplier meet at Bangalore, India. TAPS - TKML relationship
started with the supplies of parts for Corolla. TKML expressed further
confidence in TAPS by awarding the supply of parts for their new
model Innova.

JBM Sungwoo receives leadership award for safety,
health and environment

JBM
Sungwoo has been awarded the commendation award (Leadership Award
in Safety, Health and Environment) by CII. Out of those selected
for the presentation, JSL was the only engineering company.

TJC
foam plant wins JCI Asia Pacific Best Six Sigma Project Award for
FY 2004

Tata
Johnson Controls (TJC) foam plant, Pune has been recognised with
a JCI Asia Pacific Best Six Sigma Project Award for FY 2004.
TJC foam plant
has received this recognition for improvements done in the manufacturing
process capability using Six Sigma with respect to PU foam hardness.
The project team used design of experiment (DoE) to analyse and
improve the process.
JCI Best Six
Sigma Award recognises the project after reviewing all completed
Six Sigma projects during respective financial year in all JCI Facilities
in Asia Pacific.
TJC uses Six Sigma methodology to improve processes
and reduce cost by reducing variation for the last five years. The
Six Sigma team members (master black belt, black belt and champions)
are trained by JCI Leadership Institute.

Johnson Controls wins CII-EXIM bank award for Business Excellence

Tata Johnson Controls (TJC)
won a bronze award for Manufacturing Excellence from the Automotive
Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA). Mr. Vasudevan, Chief
Executive Officer, received this award at ACMA's annual meet held
at Taj Palace, New Delhi on 2 September, 2004.
TJC had submitted an application based on ACMA Manufacturing Excellence
criteria, which was followed by a site visit by an ACMA team in
July 2004. TJC received this recognition for its consistent processes
/ systems and results.

ASAL
wins prizes in the Tata Crucible The business quiz
August 2004
To commemorate the death centenary of
its founder Shri Jamsetji Tata and the birth centenaries of Tata
stalwarts Shri JRD Tata and Shri Naval Tata, Tata Crucible was one
of a host of events, organised by the Tata Group under the theme,
"Century of Trust".
The 'Tata Crucible - The
business quiz' was organised for both Tata employees and for young
managers in other corporates. The regional rounds of the quiz were
held in eight principal Tata cities (Kolkata, New Delhi, Jamshedpur,
Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore) culminating in a
grand final in Mumbai on 1 August, 2004 at Taj Lands End, Mumbai.
The ASAL team won a cash
prize of Rs. 60,000 plus many gift hampers and vouchers from Titan,
Westside, Indian Airlines and Barista.

Tata
Auto Plastic Systems honoured by General Motors as a 2003 supplier
of the year

Tata
Auto Plastic Systems (TAPS) was awarded General Motors Supplier
of the Year for 2003 for its overall business performance in providing
General Motors (GM) with parts and services. The prestigious award
was presented in a ceremony conducted on Saturday, 3 April in Prague,
Czechoslovakia, at the Hilton, Prague hotel's Congress Hall.
"Tata Auto Plastic Systems is representative
of the type of company we want to grow with as we drive to be the
best, worldwide," said Bo Andersson, Vice-President, Purchasing,
Production Control and Logistics, GM Worldwide. "The company
has a balanced focus on performance and behaviour that supports
GM's priorities. They are a role model for all of our suppliers,"
he added.
TAPS is currently supplying parts for GM Corsa
as well as developing components for a new programme. TAPS is looking
forward to expanding and establishing its relationship with GM Worldwide.
As Mr. Rajiv Bakshi, CEO, TAPS, said, "Working with GM for
the last three years has been a great learning experience for the
company."
