TACO set to acquire German auto components
manufacturer Wündsch Weidinger
Acquisition will provide TACO market access
in Europe and help build stronger base for its interiors business
globally

Tata AutoComp Systems Limited (TACO), today
announced that it is acquiring the business and assets of a German
automotive components supplier. Wündsch Weidinger produces
functional plastic parts and systems for the automotive industry.
This company had filed for insolvency in March
2005. TACO would be acquiring the business and assets of the company,
as well as its 270 employees, through its 100 per cent subsidiary
set up in Germany for this purpose.
The acquisition would provide, the interiors
business of TACO, an access to the European market. Weidinger's
facility is located at Coburg, in the state of Bavaria, Germany.
The company offers development, tool shop, precision injection moulding,
surface enrichment and assembly operations. Customers include major
OEMs including Audi, Bentley, BMW, Daimler Chrysler, Volkswagen
and Volvo.
