TACO honoured by General Motors as
2005 Supplier of the year

(TACO) was named for the third consecutive year in a row, as a General
Motors (GM) 'Supplier of the Year' for its overall business performance
in providing GM with world-class parts and services. The award was
given out at a ceremony at the Vehicle Engineering Center located
in Warren, Michigan recently.
'We consider TACO to be a role model for all
suppliers. They are recognised as a GM 'Supplier of the Year' because
they exceeded our expectations in 2005,' said Bo Andersson, Vice
President of Global Purchasing and Supply Chain. 'TACO is one of
the best in the world and we thank them for their hard work and
commitment to helping make GM vehicles the best in the world,' he
added.
D. S. Gupta, Managing Director, TACO said,
"TACO feels honoured to receive the award for the third consecutive
year; the award is a testimony of our commitment and dedication
in working closely with our customers. We shall continue to strive
to meet the expectations of our global customers on cost, quality
and delivery on a consistent basis."
The GM 'Supplier of the Year' award began as
a global programme in 1992. Winners are selected by a global team
of executives from purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and logistics,
who base their decisions on supplier performance in quality, service,
technology and price. This year, General Motors honoured 85 suppliers
worldwide for their outstanding performance throughout 2005.
The Interior and Plastic division of
TACO, is the largest supplier of interiors and exterior plastic
systems and components in India having strong design, development
and supply capabilities, with three manufacturing facilities in
India and one in Germany.
