Batteries Pvt Ltd (TGY), a 50:50 joint venture company between Tata
AutoComp Systems Ltd (TACO) and GS Yuasa International (GYIN), Japan,
today announced the launch of TATA GREEN a range of
environment-friendly automotive batteries based on Calcium-Calcium
technology offering unique features that will revolutionize the
Indian automobile market.
The launch function involving sales and marketing
conference, dealer meet, influencers meet (meet for auto electricians
who are the key influencers in the battery buying process) and the
press conference was carried over the last two days at Taj Blue
Diamond.
With this launch, TACO reinforces its position
as a prominent player in the automotive industry. Significantly,
the initiative also marks the groups first foray into the
automotive retail business.
TGYs state-of-the-art facility in Pune,
Maharashtra will manufacture TATA GREEN batteries, initially for
passenger cars and utility vehicles later this year. TGY will also
launch batteries for commercial vehicles, farm vehicles and two-wheelers.
The advanced technology from GYIN ensures that
TATA GREEN batteries do not require top-ups or even maintenance
for the first 1-lakh km. The distinctive design of calcium-calcium
battery minimises water loss, reduces self-discharge increases storage
time and provides best protection from acid spillage and sparks.
The product has several unique features
like longer battery life and shelf life (more than 90 days) as compared
to traditional batteries, high levels of vibration resistance on
all types of Indian roads, ability to withstand extreme temperatures,
higher cranking power for instant starts and truly maintenance and
hassle free performance.
