Sheet metal components

The company provides complete solutions in sheet metal components and welded assemblies. Its products include:

• Body-in-white structural panels like wheel arch, rear quarter, suspension tower, pillar and door reinforcements, floors, cross members, inner doors, inner bonnets and all reinforcements
• Body-in-white skin panels like outer doors, body sides, outer bonnets, fenders and tail gates.
• Fuel tanks and oil sumps
• Cabin parts for three-wheelers
• Fenders, bonnets and consoles for tractors
• Suspension modules for front and rear axles like rear twist beams and sub-frames

Manufacturing facilities

To offer complete solutions to our customers, we use a flexible manufacturing system to plan, develop and manufacture a large number of components in a very short time; it has the capacity to handle variable volumes. We use initiatives such as Kaizen, Poka-yoke and 5S to ensure product quality and consistency.

A wide range of heavy-duty and large bed size presses — from 200 tonne to 1500 tonne capacity in single action, double action and hydraulic versions — supplied by renowned international manufacturers like Schuler, Spertz, Erfurt, Clearing, Verson, Simpac ISGEC and HMT give Tata AutoComp a distinct advantage. The presses operate in tandem mode. The newly added Simpac press line at the Pantnagar plant is automated with multi-axis robots for handling the components.

The weld shops, with contemporary equipment and highly versatile machines, form the heart of the company's fabrication capability. They use an array of modern welding technologies like spot welding, MIG welding, arc welding, seam welding and electro pneumatic fixtures with PLC for process controls. The company uses robotic welding for critical assemblies. The company has four plants in India, two in Pune, one in Halol and one in Pantnagar. These have TS 16949 and ISO 14001 certifications.
